Who or what is e-cobr?

e-cobr (ee-cob-rar) is a sales and marketing organisation that represents the commercial interests of a small group of independent cycle retailers spread throughout the UK. 

e-cobr is infact short for 'the electronic consortium of bicycle retailers'.

Whilst each retailer is an independent cycle shop, they have come together to market themselves under the banner of e-cobr and therefore provide you with a unique cycle shopping resource.


Placing an order with e-cobr in no way affects your rights as a consumer however e-cobr is not responsible for the supply of your product only for passing the details of your requirement to our members.

Supply of the product and the processing of your card is the responsibility of our members.

Special Note about Central Marketing.

Central Marketing is not the Cycle Shop and therefore we are unable to quote stock availability of our members; we can however contact them on your behalf if appropriate.

Also, please bear in mind that if an item has not been delivered and you contact Central Marketing, this may very well be the first time we have been made aware of a problem with your order. Your understanding of this situation would be greatly appreciated and we will certainly pass your "complaint" onto the appropriate member and help in whatever way we can.

Who supplies my product?

Your order and card details are securely passed to the appropriate member i.e the member who stocks that product. They process your order and card details. They will also contact you in the event of a delay in shipping the item to you.

How long will that take?

Members will usually receive your order within 24 hours, the exception being orders placed Friday pm through to Sunday. In this instance the member will receive it on Monday.

Members will certainly strive to despatch your order within 48 hours and if there is any delay will contact you directly using the information you supplied in your order.

This chart should be used as a guide only for rigid frame hybrid or road cycles.

If choosing a bike with seat post suspension then you should normally deduct 2" from your frame size. For example: an inside leg measurement of 30" would equal a 21" frame size, you will need to deduct 2" which equals an 19" frame bicycle with seatpost suspension.

Are my card details secure when I process my order?

Yes they are.  The site has a Thawte Secure Certificate and your card details are transferred in a secure socket layer, you'll see the gold padlock.

How do I know you have received my order?

You will receive an automated email explaining the next stage and confirming the details you supplied.  If you do not receive this, please contact us as you may have supplied an incorrect contact address that we may need to contact you.

Your automated email indicates there may be a price difference to my "receipt"

A few customers think that the final page of the purchase process, and/or the automated email they receive, is their receipt and shows the amount that has already been taken from their credit card; this isn't the case.

Your credit card is not processed until we know the goods are ready for despatch.  Also, any difference to your final costs will be carriage charges, e.g you may have removed the standard charge of £2.99, or we have to use two members, which means that carriage will be £3.99 instead of £2.99.  So, the difference, if any, will be between £1 and £2.99.  Any more than that and you will be notified by us before your order is sent and your card processed.

This can mean one of two things, either the link is broken, or the product is no longer available in the back end and the front end hasn't been updated.

I'm interested in X product but my size/colour isn't shown. Do you have one in stock?

Our goal is to ensure up to 90+% availability from the site.  The site is therefore worked on daily with the objective of ensuring that only stock that is available is shown.  Therefore if your size/colour does not appear, we do not have one.

How quickly will I receive my order?

Difficult one this because it depends which member will be supplying the product.  Some items you will receive with 48 hours.  Others may take up to a week.  If longer than that and you have not heard anything from any of our members then please contact us.

Do you ship to the US/other country?

Yes, but only lightweight/small items weighing less than 2kg.  Large/heavy items cost too much to deliver.

What are your shipping costs to USA/other country?

Products up to 2Kg are sent airmail with costs varying dependent upon weight. Break points are shown below and the costs include delivery only and not packing charges.

What is the cost of shipping a bike to X Country?

Delivery of bikes outside of mainland UK is usually prohibitive due to the very high costs.  Carriage costs often start from over £80.00 for an adult bike.

Can I always pay by credit card?

In most instances yes, however orders placed from a small number of countries will require that payment is received before shipment.

Returns policy

A 7 (seven) day 'cooling off' period applies to all items ordered on-line.

Within this period if we have delivered the correct item you can return it in its original packaging and suitable for resale for a full refund, excluding carriage charges. 

If we have delivered the incorrect item, you can return it again as stipulated above, but for a full refund including original postage.

Special Note:
Due to an increase in the return of correctly delivered, carriage free items. If a returned item was delivered correctly, and was delivered Carriage Free, a deduction of £2.00 will be made from the refund value. Exceptions to this will be very light or very heavy items which will be at cost, also incorrectly delivered items.

If returned items are damaged and therefore not saleable at the RRP we will make an agreed and fair adjustment to the refunded value.

***  PLEASE SEND YOUR RETURN ITEMS BACK TO THE MEMBER WHO SUPPLIED THE PRODUCT.   Also, as e-cobr did not supply the product, it is the member who will refund your card and not e-cobr. ***


Where do I send returns?

We naturally hope that you are happy with the products we supply however, if any item you ordered needs to be returned it should always be returned to the member who supplied the product.  If you are unsure about who this was then please contact us.  This member will also re-credit your card.

After adding an item to the basket, when I go to check out, its not there?

The shopping basket element of our software tracks your purchases by using cookies.  If this problem occurs it invariably means that you have cookies disabled on your computer.  Either enable them, which you do in the Privacy settings of Internet Explorer or whatever secuity software you have, or, alternatively, if you can't be bothered doing that, just phone us on .

Incidently, we only use very friendly cookies (not the type that tracks you) and we use them for no other purpose than maintaining your shopping basket.
